Physiotherapy

Motion Works Physiotherapy Centre, staff physiotherapists have specialized training in manual "joint" therapy and can provide treatment for headaches, and neck and back pain that is caused by dysfunction or disease in the spine as well as a host of other joint problems in clients of all ages.

Treatment Philosophy

At Motion Works Physiotherapy Centre, we work with people who come to us for treatment of pain and movement dysfunction that affects their ability to carry on their usual activities or sport. Often clients have altered their way of moving due to pain or weakness. Over time, these adaptations in movement become responsible for their body's inability to heal effectively.

Our role at your initial visit to Motion Works Physiotherapy Centre is to perform a comprehensive assessment to diagnose the actual source of the problem and to develop a science- based treatment strategy to ensure your optimal recovery. The goals of treatment are specific to the individual abilities and needs of each client.

The"active exercise" approach

Our treatment approach is an active one because we know that MOTION WORKS! In fact, time and again, research has shown that physiotherapy treatment with active "motion" works best. We know that pain, injury and disease are caused by and result in changes in the way you move. Active treatment combines techniques to restore normal joint mobility or stability, with exercises to regain muscle strength, balance and co-ordination while retraining normal movement patterns.

Active exercises are specifically prescribed for each stage of recovery, beginning as early as possible. This active approach, combined with electro-therapeutic modalities or acupuncture to manage pain and inflammation, has enabled us to achieve accelerated recovery times and excellent functional outcomes for our clients.
